Day 59 - Delaware Canal Park in Easton, Pa.

So today I headed back down to the Delaware Canal Park in Easton to take some images of the Delaware/Lehigh Fork.  While I was walking down to the river and started to setup for the shoot, I heard the rumble of a train.

All images are taken with the EOS-M w/ EF-M 22mm f/2 STM @ f/3.5

As I looked up,  to my delight, there was a train that was crossing over the river:
1/100 sec @ ISO 100

1/100 sec @ ISO 100

1/1600 sec @ ISO 100

With that excitement over, I put the Gradual Neutral Density Filter on and
proceed to take the images I came to do:
1/4 sec @ ISO 100

1/5 sec @ ISO 100

However the silkiness of the water that I wanted is hard to achieve @ f/3.5
so I have added this image to show you the silkiness @ f/11
1.6 sec @ ISO 100

Thanks for Looking

Day 58 - Milk & Cookies Story

Well is a damp rainy day today.  Not a good day to go down to the river and walk along wet slippery rocks in order to take a picture.  So as I sat in the house, I started to wonder.  What really  happens to that milk and cookies you set out at Christmas time?  So I did a little experiment:

All images are taken with the EOS-M w/ EF-M 22mm f/2 STM @ f/3.5
1/100 sec @ ISO 100

1st I set out some milk and cookies

As I patiently sat and waited to see what would happen next.
To my surprise a little fellow dressed in red showed up eyeing the cookies

Then the next thing he did was to sit down and started eating the cookies

Then out of nowhere a partner dressed in green show up in a sled pulled by a reindeer.
He then started to load the cookies onto the sled

While the guy in red continued to eat the cookies

And then with a blink of an eye & a nod of his head
They were gone

Now I would of never believed this story if, I hadn't photographed myself.
Honest, this is what really happened to those cookies.

Have a great day

Tom

Day 57 - Images along the Delaware River in Easton

This past weekend my Variable Neutral Density Filter for the EF-M 22mm Lenses came in the mail.  So today I thought I would head down to the Delaware Park in Easton to take some images of the Lehigh/Delaware Fork.  So after surveying the area I go and get my equipment and set up and take my images.  Keep in mind that the EOS-M does not have a view finder, I really cannot tell from the LCD screen how the images came out because of the glare on the LCD Screen (which I hope to rectify tomorrow).  So needless to say, when I got home, the images where not what I wanted them to be.  Why do you ask?  Because I thought I new how the ND filter would work since I already use one for the bigger camera.  So I learned a value lesson today:

Rule 1:  When you get a new piece of equipment, test it out prior to going on your shoot.

Rule 2: If you think you already know how to use the new piece of equipment, see rule 1.

Anyway it wasn't an entire loss as I did get some other images while I was there:

All images are taken with the EOS-M w/ EF-M 22mm f/2 STM @ f/3.5

Ok, tomorrow or Thursday, back down to the park for a second try of the fork.

Day 53 - Abandon House

Today we went to Southside Bethlehem for lunch.  Then we headed out to pickup the grandchildren.  On the way there I have noticed this abandon structure on Granger Road many times, so today I stopped to take a couple of images.  I have done a search and have not found any information about this structure, so I don't know how long it has been there, but as you can see, it will eventually be gone.

Here are the images from today:

Day 52 - Milk & Cookies

Today was one of those windy cold days, that was not very inviting to go out for a walk.  So after this morning's exercise routine, I thought I would sit down and have a morning snack of Oreos & Milk.

All images are taken with the EOS-M w/ EF-M 22mm f/2 STM @ f/3.5
This images were shot using a off Camera Flash with a 1/2 CTO & Snout Filter on the flash

Day 50 - Wehr Covered Bridge

Today an the way home from work, I stopped by the Wehr Covered Bridge. In 1862, Ephraim Sieger built a stone gristmill on the north bank of the Jordan, and the bridge became known as Sieger’s Covered Bridge. After several owners, the mill was sold to William Wehr, and the bridge eventually was named Wehr’s Covered Bridge. The present concrete dam near the bridge that supplied power for the gristmill was built in 1904 and replaced the original wooden dam located a short distance upstream. The mill was torn down in 1951, and today locals refer to the general area surrounding the bridge as “Wehr’s Dam”. Wehr’s Bridge, which was built in the Burr arch truss design.

The Images I will be showing today, some are taken without the Infrared filter and others with the filter on.
