Day 328 - Blue's @ Blue Mountain Winery

After church today we decided to go to our favorite winery to pick up some wines for our Thanksgiving dinner, before heading to the store for the remainder of the ingredients for the Turkey dinner.

All images are taken with the EOS-M w/EF-M 22mm  @ Aperture Priority set to f/3.5

So we hooped into the Boxster and headed out..

...it was a brisk cold day, but a beautiful day to drive
the back country roads.

After arriving at the winery and purchased the wines for dinner,
we got an extra bottle, unpacked our picnic basket..

...sat back and listened to some fantastic blues

Day 314 - Night shots of the Boxster S

This afternoon we headed down to church for a organ recital.  After the recital, reception and cleaning up, we headed downtown to get some night images of the Boxster:

As I started to take the images, I had a gentlemen come up
and ask me how much I was selling if for as he wanted to buy it.

Had to tell him no, it wasn't for sell,

As the wife was patiently waiting, shocking her Facebook

The she wanted a picture next to the car to show that
she is much prettier than the car.

Which I would have to agree.

Thanks for looking

Day 311 - Commotion in the Garage

Cold rainy day today, so I spent most of the day indoors.  Near the end of the day, I had to go out to the garage to look for some tools, when I heard a commotion behind me...

Day 306 - A Birthday Present

What a surprising day today.  The morning started as usual.  One of the grandchildren coming into the bedroom @ 4:22 AM, the next showing up at 5:20 AM and the last @ 6:00 AM.  So up and fixing them breakfast, then getting ready to take them to their swimming lesson.  A normal Saturday morning so far.  Then while waiting for the swim lessons to be over I get a text from my daughter, asking me to drop the grandchildren off at the car dealers as they were taking my son-in-las car in for repair.  No problem, then we got to the dealer and there she stood, nope, not my daughter but the birthday gift that they got me for my 60th birthday in 4 days:

What a surprise.  I was able to drive her home with only 13 miles on the odometer.

So after we got her home, some lunch, we head back over to my daughter and son-in-law for my birthday dinner.  Normally the drive would take 25 minutes about 30 miles.  However today it took us 1 1/2 hour and 100 miles to get to their house.  Hmmm, wonder why??

Thanks  for a great birthday present and for a fabulous birthday dinner.

Day 278 - Good news & Bad news

Today after the grandchildren got up from their naps, we headed out on a little field trip to look at Pop-pops birthday present.  After driving for 20 minutes we pulled into a parking lot and walked into the service center.  And there she sat, brightly polished, gleaming as she sat there waiting to be released.

All images are taken with the EOS-M w/EF-M 22mm f/2 STM @ Aperture Priority set to f/3.5

What was she?

A

A 2014
To be exact

But all we were allowed to to was to photograph her
With the wife and grandchildren.

And there she will remain until Porsche releases her after they clear her from a recall notification.

See you tomorrow.

Day 128 - Does Rain make things grow?

Well it's a rainy day here in early May.  So I headed out this morning to do some banking.  Keeping in mind that my bank is a 40 minute drive 1-way.  So that gives me a lot of time to do some thinking.  So my thought was; "Does rain make things grow?"

All images are taken with the EOS-M w/ EF-M 22mm f/2 STM @ f/3.5

So as I looked at the little Boxster on the dashboard,
I wondered...
What would happen if I watered this little guy with some rain water?
So when I got home, I placed this little guy in the middle of the garage floor
As I looked at it, thinking this is silly, I took the water bucket,
And started to water.
Then after a few minutes it started to change
It was getting larger, but it started to look more like a Miata than a Boxster.
But hey, it was growing, so I added some more rain water
Then before my eyes it started to go even bigger...
However, it was no longer a 2 seater, but a 1 seater with 3 wheels and no engine.
Oh well, I guess my little experiment didn't work out as planned, so I went into the house.

But to my surprise, when I came out, there stood before my eyes, not a 3 wheeled yellow/green bike
but

A Rusting old Studebaker Pick-up

Well that's what I get for using acid rain on metal.  Now what am I going to do?  How will I explain
a rusted old pick-up in the garage to the wife?  Better yet, How am I going to get rid of it?

Well this experiment gave me a lot more to thinks about.

Have a nice day.

Day 110 - The Yellow Boxster

After taking the Grandchildren to swimming, their parents pick them up.  So the wife and I headed over to Hershey, Pa for the State's largest Porsche Swap Meet.  When we got there, there where 911s from the earliest vintage to the most current.  There were 914's, 944's, 928's,  Cayman's, Panamera's and the Boxster's.  I don't think I've seen so many in one place.  So we started to looked around.

All images are taken with the EOS-M w/ EF-M 22mm f/2 STM @ f/3.5

There some beautifully restored 911s

Then there where the fix-me-ups
This one below selling for a mere $22,500.00

Porsches as far as the eye could see

Then there where the Boxsters

Then there she was!!

The Yellow Boxster

So beautiful she looked, sitting there, that my wife said,
without hesitation, go ahead honey, you deserve it.

So I took out my wallet and handed the seller a brand new,
crisp, $5.00 bill

And I brought home my Yellow Boxster

Hope you liked the story.
