Day 31 - Poy-Sian Flower

Well today I just stayed around the house.  Upstairs my wife has Poy-Sian Flower (Crown of Thorns) in full bloom.  Been meaning to photograph it before the flowers fall off.  So here are today's images:

Day 30 - Puddle Reflections

Today is a balmy and warm overcast day.  So I went for a walk to the store.  On the way to the store I saw some puddles.  A fascinating subject.  Puddles are magnets for little boys & sometimes big boys.  Puddles are also a reflection of our world.  So the next 3 images are brought to you by puddles:

Day 29 - Bogert's Bridge

This morning on the way home from work, I though that I would stop by the Bogert's Bridge.  It is 1 of 7 Covered Bridges in the Lehigh Valley and 1 of over 200 in all of PA.  The history of Bogert’s bridge dates back to the mid-1700s when the Bogert family moved into a log cabin next to the future site of the bridge.  Dating back to 1841, and spanning 145 feet over Little Lehigh River, it is one of the oldest in the region and in the nation.

Day 28 - Monocacy Creek

What a ugly day it was today.  The morning started off with snow, turning to ice, then a mix of sleet and rain.  Not a very good day for pictures.  So on the way home from work I drove over a part of the highway that had the Monocacy Creek passing along the side of the highway.  So I though I would find out how to get down to the Creek, before going home.  Well low and behold, right behind some large shopping center's, a Motel/Care facility and Warehouses sits this Conservation Area Called Archibald Johnston.  So who is Archibald?  Turns out he was the 1st mayor of Bethlehem and his house sits somewhere on the property.  So I stopped and grabbed a couple of shots while it was raining.

Day 27 - A Walk along Hugh Moore's Park

Today there was only 1 church service because of a voters meeting.  So I made my Rum Raisin Scones to share.  After church we came home and I found a recipe for Fairy Ginger Cookies.  So we had to head out to the store for some additional ingredients.  On the way to the store we stopped by the Lehigh River @ Hugh Moore's Park in Easton for some photos for today's Blog:

Day 26 - Clearing Snow

Today's blog's photos are all about shoveling snow.    Last night we had a light dusting of powdered snow.  Maybe 1/2" total in accumulation, but enough to put a fluffy coating of the white stuff over everything.  So before we headed out to swimming lessons, we had the crew outside having a grand time shoveling snow.

Day 25 - Our Fridays

Today we are back to our normal routine.  We went out to lunch at Jake's Wayback.  A hamburger joint that serves freshly made hamburgers (not frozen) fixed the way you want them, Homemade Potato chips and a drink.  The cost for two of us to eat there was only $10.  The best Hamburgers in the Lehigh valley.  Normally after lunch we head over to Banes & Noble until it is time to pick up the grandchildren, but toady was haircut day so we headed to Christine.  After that we got the grandchildren and brought them home.

So here are the pictures for today:

Day 24 - Sunrise Coffee

Day 24 we are greeted with a slightly warmer day than yesterday.  Today we woke to a balmy 11 degrees F or -11.7 degrees C.  So on such a brisk morning, there is nothing like a hot steamy cup of coffee:

Day 23 - Icy Windows

So this morning we awoke with the temperature outside at 7F.  A nice crisp and cold morning.  We also keep the humidity in the home @ 45 degrees as our granddaughter is prone to nose bleeds when it is dry.  So when we opened the blind this mooring, what did I see?  The images for today's Blog:

Day 22 - Glasses & Clock

Today is a very cold day.  With a 0 degree wind chill, going outdoors to get a picture is not my idea of a fun time.  So thinking on what to take today, I was in my office this morning looking at the design on the wall the sun was making.  Trying to determine if that would make a good image or not, I turned and looked at the image that I took for today's image.

Day 21 - Wegner's Farm

Today was a busy day.  As I was driving home from work, I stopped to photograph this Farm.  What is unique about this farm is that it is sandwich around all sides with developments.  Industrial to homes.  One of the few surviving ones that have not yet given up to developing the remaining farmland they have left.

Day 20 - Philadelphia Auto Show

Today we headed down to the Philadelphia Auto Show.  It was a nice warm day for January in Philly  and we had a very good time looking at new cars, sitting in cars we will never own, then going to the Reading Terminal to have lunch.  Took a lot of images, but these are the one that meet the requirement for the blog.
