Day 269 - The Butztown Hotel

Today I had to head down to the bodyshop to get the car scheduled for some finishing touches that need to be done from the repair they did in July.  On my way home, I decided to stop and take a image of the Keystone Pub.

The history of the Pub was that it was built in 1806 by George Butz, the son of German Immigrants, he built the his home in 1795 where he started his life with his wife Catharine as a owner of a Grist Mill, store owner, tavern Owner and farmer.  He eventually went bankrupt and moved his family to Philadelphia in 1825.   Some say that the building started out as a Grist Mill, then converted to a hotel/pub after George left the area, renting room till 1990's when the hotel was bought and converted to the Keystone Pub.

The building became the center of the Butztown community, where they had poker nights, a brothel, and became very popular for the bikers.  It is even said that there is paranormal activity happening at the Pub.  So if you are in the area over Halloween stop by for a pint or 2.  You never know who my sit next to you for a conversation.

Day 268 - Lost Sandals

Today I got a call from my wife informing me that I was past due for my teeth to be cleaned.  That is one problem that you have when your wife works for a dentist.  So she just happened to have an available slot open today @ 11:15 AM.  So off I went this morning to get my teeth cleaned, only to find out that I need to go back again on the 9th to have a filling replaced.

So on the way home, I noticed this little park.  Needing a photo for today's blog I stopped to see what I could find.

I noticed these sandals on the ground.
So I got a little closer...
 then a little closer still
until I came up with these 2 images for the blog.

Day 262 - In Memory of.

During this morning's walk along the trail, I noticed this memorial placed across the canal.  Not sure who it was for, but  thought it would make a good addition to my blog.  Never know what you will see when walking along the trail.
