Day 303 - Truth in Music

There was a time when your word meant something.  There was a time that your word carried more weight than your money.  There was a time when you were measured by what you said.   There was a time that we meant what we said.  But as time past, our words have become less valuable, that what we say is not what we meant & what we meant is not what you thought you heard.  And what you thought you heard is surely your truth, but not my truth, therefore you can't hold me to what I said, based upon your truth or understanding.  Yes, even what was written 200 years ago, doesn't mean the same then as it does today.  But with music,  what was written yesterday, will sound the same today and tomorrow.  Yes there is truth in music.

Day 302 - A Walk on the water & in the ruins

Today after studying for 6 hours, I decided to take a walk along the canal with the wife.  As we started our walk we noticed the reflections in the water and she thought she would try her hand at walking on the water.  After that, as the vegetation along the canal was dying we notices a set of ruins that had appeared.  So we stopped to explore them for a bit.

Day 301 - Bee looking at you

So as I was getting into the car to go to work, I noticed this bee resting on the window.  So I pulled out the camera, put on a Cokin +3 Macro filter over the lens and took this shot of a face only a mother could love from inside the car:

Day 299 - Scarecrow Festival in Easton

Can you believe it?  This is my 300th post.  Hard to believe that this blog started 300 days ago on the steps of the Rave theater.  Only 65 more post to go.

Well since the grandchildren did their trick-or-treat'n last night at their house, we didn't have them this morning.  So I thought it would be a good opportunity to climb up a tree and remove some branches that were hitting the house, clean the gutters and cut the grass.  The only damage was a twisted right ankle and a banged up thumb.

After that, we headed down to Easton for the Scarecrow festival:

Day 297 - Fall Decorations

Today I took a walk around the neighbor again.  This time I noticed this lovely fall decoration in a neighbor's front lawn.  So it became the photo for today:

Day 296 - Old Red Mill

Yes, I know, I did take this mill earlier in the year.  However for this shot, I went down into the river to get this image from a different perspective.  There are 4 images, 1 done in BW, the next 2 from different spots in the river & the last is a 2 image panorama.

Day 293 - 1949 Cessna

Had to do a photo event for a child's birthday party.  Across the street I noticed this old airplane that was tied down on a private runway.  As I was talking to the owner of the property, I found out that the plane was a 1048/49 Cessna.  The owner (now 93 years-old) of the plane landed it in his field 3 years ago and asked if he could park the plane there for 3 months.  It hasn't moved since.

Day 292 - Evening at the neighbors

Interesting day today.  As we where about to leave to take the grandchildren to swim lessons, I went into the basement and noticed this strange smell.  As I looked around I saw that a drain pipe had separated at the elbow and drainage water was running down the wall of the basement.   It has appeared that the elbow had separated from the drainage pipe that lead up to the kitchen sink and the upstairs bathroom.    So after swim lessons my neighbor came over and helped me fix the broken pipe.  Afterwards I stopped over to to give him a bottle of wine for assisting me.  He insisted on sharing a glass or two or three and before we knew it, we where having dinner there.  Hie fabulous wife had made an outstanding pot roast, combined with some stimulating conversation we had a very enjoyable evening.

Day 291 - Walking along the Little Lehigh River

After lunch, the wife and I headed over to the Little Lehigh River for a afternoon walk before picking up the grandchildren.  It was a beautiful brisk fall day to be out doors and walking.  We even got to see a larger predatory bird hit the water and fly out with a trout in it's talons.  Now that would of made a great picture, but a last I had the wrong lens to get a decent shot.

All images are taken with the EOS-M w/EF-M 22mm f/2 STM @ Aperture Priority set to f/3.5

But I did get a fisherman fishing in the Little Lehigh

And of course my honey running on the track.

Day 290 - A Spooky House

So on my way to work today, I noticed this old house that was starting to crumble.  So thinking it would make a nice image, I stopped to take a picture before the house completely falls to the earth.

All images are taken with the EOS-M w/EF-M 22mm f/2 STM @ Aperture Priority set to f/3.5

As I walked to the front of the house I noticed this
ghostly aberration on the 2nd floor.

So I thought I would get a closer look
There she was on the second floor
ghostly looking yet familiar looking.

Day 288 - Old Ruins

After work, studying, cutting the grass, more studying, it was time to take a break and take a walk when the wife got home.  We headed down to a access point near the house to take a walk along the D&L canal.  As we walked we noticed the ruins of a old house that appears to be were the lock attended stayed next to the lock that was managed.

So with the help of my wife this became the image for today:

Day 287 - Night Light

Busy day today.  With work, studying, almost didn't have time to go out and get a photo.  However, on my way home from work tonight I noticed this church on the corner and I liked how the church was lit.  So I pulled the car over, jumped out into the dark street with dark clothes on and quickly snapped a couple of images, hoping not to get hit by a car.

Day 286 - Evening Shots in Bethlehem

Today, after church, I spent 3 hours studying.  Then took the wife to meet up with my daughter and granddaughters where they went to a make a cup cake party.  While they where in there I spent another 2 hours in the car studying.  Finally as the sun was quickly setting, we headed home and I decided to stop in Bethlehem to get a couple of images before the sun completely disappeared in the horizon.
