Day 43 - Fasnacht Day

Today is Fasnacht Day.  A old Pennsylvania Dutch tradition where they let their hair down and fry some donuts in lard (fat) for their last decadent act before Ash Wednesday.  So this morning I headed over to Wegmans before work and pick up a dozen Fasnachts to enjoy when I got home.

So the 1st thing was to open the box to see that we had some plain sugar and powdered sugar Fasmachts:

The next logical thing to do was to take some out of the box and put them on a plate. Don't they look zoo yummy?:

Now of course one cannot have one of these decadent treats without a cup of freshly brewed black coffee:

And then what you have been anticipating as you raise one to your mouth and take that 1st heavenly bite....
